Provides uninsured eligible Bastrop County residents with health care services.
Supplemental Nutrition Program (SNAP)
Helps people buy the food they need for good health. People also can buy garden seeds with SNAP benefits. SNAP food benefits are put onto the Lone Star Card and can be used just like a credit card at any store that accepts SNAP.
Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC)
The local office to access state benefits such as: Medicaid, Chip (children’s health insurance), SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) and access to other programs.

Texas Health Steps / STAR / STAR + PLUS
Texas Health Steps is health care for children birth through age 20 who have Medicaid. Texas Health Steps gives your child free medical checkups starting at birth, and free dental checkups starting at 6 months of age.
Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
WIC is the special supplemental nutrition program for pregnant women, new mothers, and young children. Participants learn about nutrition and how to stay healthy, and receive food certificates to purchase healthy food. Other resources are available.
