CASA of Bastrop, Lee and Fayette Counties Inc. (Court Appointed Special Advocates)

When a child enters the foster care system because his or her home is no longer safe, a judge may appoint a committed volunteer to help them. That volunteer is called a Court Appointed Special Advocate®, or CASA. CASA volunteers are each assigned to help one child or set of siblings at a time, so they can focus on giving that child or sibling group the individualized advocacy and attention they need.

The Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Bastrop, Lee & Fayette Counties is a child-friendly facility where child victims of abuse may be interviewed, undergo medical evaluations, and receive therapy. In addition, the center provides advocacy to protective caretakers and child abuse education to the communities we serve.

Child Protective Services (CPS)

Child Protective Services (CPS) becomes involved with children and families when they are referred by the DFPS Investigations division, which investigates allegations of child abuse and neglect. CPS provides families a variety of services to strengthen families so children can stay safe at home with their parents.

The Refuge

The Refuge for DMST™ (Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking) has a very specific mission: To provide trauma-informed, long-term restoration community with on-site services for girls, minors through age 19, who have been exploited through sex trafficking.
