What We Do

Bastrop County Cares is an intermediary organization focused on researching the social determinants of health that are affecting the lives of Bastrop county residents. We are building a new approach to how our rural community can respond to shared challenges.  We are a partnership of public, private, faith-based and nonprofit organizations, institutions, and individuals representing communities throughout the county.  Our practice includes the following:

 

We are an intermediary organization supporting the provision of services by other organizations. Our seven main functions are to:

  • Guide vision and strategy

  • Identify comprehensive community initiatives by collecting and analyzing data

  • Identify potential collaborative partners and support aligned activities

  • Establish shared measurement practices

  • Build public will

  • Advance policy

  • Mobilize funding
