At Bastrop County Cares, we know that strong families begin with strong support systems.
That is why we are proud to partner with the Bastrop Birthing Center and several dedicated community organizations in the launch of the W.O.M.B. 360 Collaborative, an initiative focused on improving maternal health and expanding access to care for families across Bastrop County.
W.O.M.B., which stands for Women Overcoming Maternal Barriers, is a community-centered collaborative designed to support mothers throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. With funding support from the St. David’s Foundation, the initiative brings together healthcare providers, mental health professionals, doulas, and community organizations to help families access the care and resources they need in one connected network.
As part of this collaborative effort, families will have increased access to:
- Midwifery and maternal healthcare services
- Perinatal mental health support
- Doula and postpartum care
- Transportation assistance
- Mobile health coaching
- Grief and loss support
- Community-based wraparound resources
The W.O.M.B. 360 Collaborative was created in response to the growing need for accessible maternal healthcare in rural communities. Many families in Bastrop County face challenges such as long travel distances for prenatal care, limited provider options, and barriers to accessing support services. Across Texas, nearly half of counties are considered maternity care deserts, highlighting the importance of building stronger local systems of care.
Bastrop County Cares is honored to serve alongside organizations that are committed to supporting women and families, including:
- Bastrop Birthing Center
- Nurtured TX
- Doc Who Listens™, PLLC
- EverMother
We are excited to be part of this meaningful work and look forward to sharing more information about the W.O.M.B. 360 Collaborative and upcoming community opportunities in the weeks ahead.
