Under the umbrella of the Bastrop County Cares Economic Stability Collaborative, the Food Sector Task Force has developed a new Charitable Food Assistance Directory for 2025–2026.
After reviewing the Food Access Community Needs Assessment prepared by the Central Texas Food Bank and listening to stories from concerned community members, our collaborative identified the need for an updated, centralized guide to all local food pantry options. By combining the resources and expertise of our team, including volunteers, food pantry directors, and nonprofit leaders, we collected and verified the hours and locations of more than 30 charitable food sites across Bastrop County. These include mobile food pantries, CSA veggie box distributions, and brick-and-mortar food pantries.
Addressing Community Needs
Many Bastrop County residents shared that finding accurate information about food resources, such as when and where to go can be challenging. To address this, we created a directory that clearly outlines the who, what, when, where, and how of accessing food assistance.
The booklet features:
- Maps organized by town and region
- Listings divided by day of the week, making it easier to find options that fit your schedule
- QR codes linking to additional online tools, including:
These resources provide quick access to information for anyone seeking emergency food assistance or looking for local food producers.
Connecting the Community
While there is still more work to be done, we are proud to share this new directory and hope it helps bridge the gap between local food providers and community members in need.
The Charitable Food Assistance Directory is available:
- For download online
- In print at food pantries, churches, community centers, and local businesses throughout Bastrop County
