Strengthening Digital Access Through Community Partnerships

Bastrop County Cares is proud to be working with Connected Nation, AT&T, and Compudopt to help make technology and digital skills more accessible to residents across Bastrop County.

Through this collaboration, local residents received laptop devices and completed digital skills training workshops. These workshops are designed to help people feel more comfortable using technology, especially if they are new to computers or want to improve their skills.

These trainings focus on practical topics like basic computer use, navigating the internet, staying safe online, and building skills that can support job searching and career growth. By providing both devices and hands-on learning opportunities, this effort helps ensure community members are not only connected, but also confident using technology in their daily lives.

“The ability to confidently use digital tools is essential for education, employment, accessing health care, and everyday life,” said Noemi Guerra, Economic Stability Program Supervisor at Bastrop County Cares. “By combining access to devices with digital skills training, we are helping ensure residents are not only connected, but empowered.”

This initiative supports Bastrop County Cares’ commitment to economic stability and opportunity for all residents. When individuals have the tools and knowledge they need, they are better able to take advantage of education, employment, and community resources. Bastrop County Cares looks forward to continuing this work with partners and expanding digital access and skills throughout the county.
