Stimulus Payments

Last month, Congress passed the CARES Act that included a stimulus payment (also called economic impact payment) of $1,200 for adults who earn less than $75,000/year ($150,000/year for couples) plus $500 per dependent child age 16 or younger. Everyone in the household must have a social security number to qualify.

The IRS started distributing those payments this past weekend by direct deposit and announced that 80 million people should get their check by this week.
